Requirements For Next Meeting Saturday 12th September 2026

Please see below the list of requirements for Nancy’s wet felting workshop (making a bowl) on Saturday 12th September.

We currently have the maximum number of members we can accommodate. For this reason we are very sorry that we can’t welcome guests or new members to any of our meetings.

All current members are welcome. If you can not attend a meeting for any reason it would be helpful if you could send a message on WhatsApp so we have an idea of how many chairs and tables to put out.

REQUIREMENTS LIST

Please can everyone bring the following:

A hand-towel that can be folded to create a working surface approx 18ins square. NB a bath towel is too big and a tea-towel is not absorbent enough

2 pieces of bubble wrap with small bubbles – approx 18ins square each

A circle of paper 7.5-8ins diameter and another about 9ins diameter

Paper scissors

Fabric scissors

Small embroidery scissors or snips with pointed ends

Biro

A rinsed out spray bottle from bathroom or kitchen cleaner OR a small water bottle (500ml) with holes punched in the lid.  A pudding basin and small sponge is also an option.

Liquid hand-wash soap.  I will bring some but it might be easier for preparations if at least some of you have your own. Please don’t bring washing up liquid. It is harsh on hands and on wool!

Optional rather than necessary:

Piece of nylon netting approx 12ins square

Bar of handwash soap

Apron

Small bits of woollen or other natural yarns for decorations

Plastic/latex gloves if soapy water might irritate your skin – the ones you get in petrol filling stations are ideal as they can be pulled on and off easily

Plastic bag to take wet work home in if you don’t want to wrap it in your towel

Your own wool roving if you are already a feltmaker and want to use a specific colour or finish up your stash, ditto natural yarns (silk, wool, viscose, etc).

Nancy will bring a selection of merino roving colours, yarns and plenty of resist material for cutting out resists and for taking some home if people want more, also some liquid soap and some bubble wrap for anyone who forgets!  She will also prepare for making a simple rose at the end of the day if we finish making the bowl early.

Don’t forget your pack lunch
